Brief Description
As a multi-disciplined Designated Project Engineer on Crossrail, you’ll ensure we come up with cost-effective, safe and reliable designs that comply with all relevant standards and match up with the requirements of other disciplines, as well as manage the work of external design houses.

By joining the programme now, you can be part of taking a major project from design to completion. The purpose of the role is to manage the use of appropriate engineering standards in relation to design and construction, across all related activities within the Crossrail West Delivery Programme, Track, Signalling, OLE, Civils etc. and check whether they comply with legislation, Railway Group and company standards. To monitor whether suitably qualified and experienced staff are employed to control engineering aspects of all projects within the functional discipline.

Responsibilities
Undertake DPE duties in accordance with relevant standards
Lead and mentor all junior staff within the engineering team
Undertake design and constructability reviews of the ongoing works, to make sure compliance is achieved to Standards, and work methods are acceptable
Integrate/review the delivery programme with all other key technical disciplines to make sure the programme’s milestone schedule is achievable

Requirements
Significant experience in rail engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas.
Ideally Degree educated.
