Responsible Signalling Engineer – Manchester / Home Working – £471 per day – 12 month contract

The candidate will liaise with other departments to ensure completion of site enabling, antenna & rigging, cable termination and detailed design documentation in order to support the commissioning plan

They will accept sites as ready for commissioning from the construction project managers, while supervising the implementation by commissioning engineers of new equipment onto the infrastructure

They will enable the appropriate degree of testing and commissioning of the new equipment as appropriate and provide direct line management to deal with staff issues relating to HR, holiday, health and safety, training / technical competence and quality.

The candidate will also support the Commissioning & Operations Manager to deliver to the project manager concise and complete results and as-built documentation to support hand back to the network maintainer.

Essential
• Successful relevant experience in signalling engineering, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas.
• Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.
• Knowledge of quality assurance.
• An understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.
• CDM, risk assessment, engineering management competency.

Desirable
• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.
• Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects.
• An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
• Project safety management experience
• Yellow book course.
